Dog sports recap, 2024
Loki didn't do a whole lot in the sports department. We went to a few trials, some lessons, and we played around with Fast CAT, but he didn't qualify in anything. Still happy to have him around, even if he is slowing down a bit.
Jean got her BCAT and DCAT this year, which is awesome progress! It's definitely her favorite sport that we've tried. I've also got her running canicross-style, and I think we might start doing actual races when it gets warmer. She went to a couple of mock agility trials, and she even got her first qualifying agility score in CPE! We played around with treibball, too. The one thing we didn't get to that I was hoping to was getting into group classes, but I've got one scheduled for January, so we're not too far behind. Her reactivity around other dogs has gone way, way down.
Echo scooped up a bunch of easy titles: CGC, TKN, CGCA, and CGCU. She also has two out of three legs of her RN; we're waiting to get the score back on the last video submission. I half-finished an online nosework class with her, and hopefully we can finish the second half sometime next year. I'd also love to get her into a treibball class at some point. I did some agility with her earlier in the year, but I stopped because her limp kept coming back. Cutting out repetitive jumping seems to have fixed it, so we're going to stick to things that don't include that.
